Contact Us | Kitchenouse

A real person reads everything that arrives here, and we would rather hear from you than not. Whether you have spotted a mistake, have a cooking question we have not answered, or want to talk business, the address below reaches us.

Email us

karen@kitchenouse.com

We reply within 24 to 48 hours in most cases. If you have not heard back after that, it is worth checking your spam folder before assuming we ignored you, because replies from small sites often land there.

Corrections come first

If you think something on this site is wrong, out of date, or no longer matches current food safety guidance, please tell us. These messages go to the top of the pile.

Send the link to the article and a short note on what looks wrong. You do not need to prove your case or provide a source, though if you have one it speeds things up considerably. We would far rather investigate ten reports and find nine were fine than leave a genuine error sitting on the site because nobody mentioned it. Where we find we got something wrong, we correct the article and note that it was updated.

Cooking questions and article suggestions

If you searched for something and could not find the answer here, that is useful information for us. A great many articles on this site exist because a reader asked first. Tell us what you were trying to find out and we will look at whether it is worth writing.

We cannot promise a personal reply to every cooking question, and we cannot troubleshoot a dish in real time while it is on your stove, but questions do genuinely shape what we publish next.

What we cannot help with

We cannot tell you whether the specific food in your kitchen is safe to eat. We cannot see it, smell it, or know how it has been stored, and guessing about that is exactly the kind of advice that gets someone ill. Our position is the one set out in our Food Safety and Health Disclaimer: when in doubt, throw it out.

We also cannot give medical or nutritional advice. If you think you have food poisoning or are reacting to something you have eaten, contact a medical professional or your local emergency service rather than waiting on an email from us.

Business and advertising

For partnerships, advertising, sponsorship or other commercial inquiries, email the same address and include Business Inquiry in the subject line so it gets routed correctly.

Before you write: we do not accept guest posts, we do not sell links or paid placements in existing articles, and we do not publish sponsored content that is not clearly labeled as such. Our editorial and commercial positions are set out in full in our Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure. Pitches that ignore this will not get a reply.

Copyright, privacy and legal

Use the same address for copyright complaints, privacy requests such as access or deletion of your personal information, and any other legal matter. Put the subject clearly in the subject line.

For copyright complaints, the information we need is listed in our Terms of Service. For privacy requests, the rights available to you and how we handle them are set out in our Privacy Policy.

Making your message easy to answer

Not essential, but it helps: include the link to the article you are writing about, tell us what you were trying to do rather than only what went wrong, and mention anything unusual about your setup, since an oven that runs hot or a refrigerator that is fuller than usual often turns out to be the answer. Messages with that detail get a better reply and get it faster.
